Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ on Boot Fitting
What is boot fitting?
Boot fitting combines the selection of the right boots with specific adjustments to the shape of the foot and individual needs.
What problems can boot fitting solve?
Common concerns include pressure points, insufficient support, an uncomfortable fit, the need for insoles, or necessary fine-tuning. What’s possible depends on the shoe.
Can I have an existing or store-bought ski boot customized?
Yes. We inspect these ski boots and, provided their design and condition allow it, customize them to fit each customer individually. We charge for this work on a time-and-materials basis; we cannot guarantee specific results.
How does the foot analysis work with Feetbox EVO and ShooIQ?
The Feetbox EVO digitally measures the foot. ShooIQ supports the analysis and shoe selection; personalized advice remains crucial.
Which Sidas insole is right for me?
Depending on your foot and shoe, you may choose a pre-formed 3Feet insole, a thermoformed Custom Live insole, or a fully customized Custom insole. We’ll determine which option is best for you after the analysis.
What does First Fit include?
First Fit applies exclusively to ski and snowboard boots purchased at Gisler Sport and includes, in particular, an analysis, selection of the right boots, and optional thermal adjustment of suitable inner and outer boots.
Is First Fit included with a purchase at Gisler Sport?
Yes, for ski or snowboard boots purchased from Gisler Sport with a value of CHF 120.–. For snowboard boots, the scope of work that is technically possible may be more limited; additional work will be billed.
Where can I get ski boot fitting in Arosa?
Basic consultations are available at all three locations. The Feetbox is located on Poststrasse and at Bananas; more complex procedures are performed at Bananas.
What services does Bananas offer?
These include Sidas Custom insoles, inner boot adjustments, milling, pressing, shell modification, and complex fine-tuning.
Can snowboard boots be customized as well?
Yes, for example, through consultation, foot measurements, custom insoles, and appropriate thermal adjustments. Extensive shell modifications are usually not possible.
How long does an adjustment take?
That depends on the nature of the request and the amount of work involved. The booking duration covers consultation and initial processing; additional work may require extra time.
Do I need an appointment?
For a new pair of shoes or a complex boot fitting, we recommend using the online calendar. There is currently no dedicated online appointment available for Tschuggen.
What should I bring to the appointment?
Both shoes, your usual ski or snowboard socks, and any insoles you have.
